IIT has decided to provide relaxation in the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced this year. This information is trending on the Internet. On the other hand, students are really happy with this decision of the institution. Earlier, if any student wants to be eligible for JEE advanced, he must have a minimum of 75 percent in class 12th or must have attained rank one of the top 20 percentile of the qualifying examination. But, this year in 2020, there are no such limitations of percentage. Just passed students can also appear for this exam.

Through this decision, the lakhs of students who suffered due to COVID-19. So, they would also be able to appear for the competitive exam. IIT took a great initiative to scrap 75 percent eligibility criteria.

MINIMUM PERCENTAGE REDUCED FROM 75 TO 35 

Durgesh Mangeshkar is an Alumnus of IIT Bombay. He said that he was waiting for IIT to take this move and implement it permanently. He applauded the decision of the Education Minister and hope that this reduction of percentage criteria from 75 percent to 35 percent may become a permanent phenomenon. Moreover, he tweeted and asked the audience that why is XII Boards relevant to a JEE aspirant anyway?

JEE Advanced is the entrance exam for the most reputed Indian Institute of Technology. The Education Minister said on Thursday that he will hold JEE Advanced 2021 on 3rd July. IIT Kharagpur will conduct this exam and it will be a computer-based test.

THE EDUCATION MINISTER SCRAPED THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA DUE TO COVID 19

Ramesh Pokhriyal addressed the students and said that they might have prepared for the exam. Moreover, COVID-19 is not over yet. That is why they have scraped the eligibility criteria. This relaxation is due to the COVID-19 pandemic affecting the academic session.

Many students could not appear for JEE Mains 2020 due to COVID-19. Now, they can directly appear for JEE Advanced 2021. IN 2020, this exam was on 27th September after being deferred a few times due to the coronavirus outbreak.
