Delhi University Teachers Association, DUTA is organizing an outreach programme named Jan Samvad. Through the outreach programme, students would get to know about Arvind Kejriwal’s New Delhi Assembly constituency.
The constituency is all about the alleged crises in those DU colleges that are fully funded by Delhi Government. DUTA released a statement in which it stated that the members of the association distributed leaflets. It was distributed at Gole Market, Janpath Metro Station, and RK Ashram Metro Station.
DUTA PROTEST FOR SEVERAL ISSUES
DUTA started their protest last month over several issues. Some of them were issuing Grants-in-aid, appointing senior administrative officers to the government-affiliated colleges, and also about the ‘Pattern of Assistance’ document.
WHAT IS PATTERN OF ASSISTANCE?
The document states “lead to dismemberment of colleges from Delhi University.” The documents claim that DU colleges affiliated to Delhi Government do not provide Grants-in-aid regularly. So, DU teachers affiliated with those colleges did not get salaries for many months. Moreover, former employees have not received their pension.
DUTA IN SHORT OF FUNDS
Delhi University Teachers Association, DUTA said that due to a shortage of funds, colleges are not in a condition to pay their financial bills and medical bills of employees. DUTA said that Delhi Government must withdraw the pattern of Assistant document.
DELHI GOVERNMENT ASSIGNED ASSISTANCE OFFICERS
According to Delhi University Teacher’s Association, the pattern of assistance is a part of the National Education Policy. It focuses on separating the 12 Delhi University colleges from DU. The Association also claimed that Delhi Government has arbitrarily assigned some senior assistant officers in those 12 colleges. However, DU has no provision of appointing those officers. Principle office deals with the issues of the college. So, with the pattern of assistance document DUTA said that Delhi Government should withdraw the decision of appointing those senior assistant officers.
DUTA TO RESUME THEIR STRIKE
The Association is holding a public outreach program to deal with such issues in Patpadganj on 9th April in the Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia assembly constituency. DUTA said that it will hold the strike again on 12th April if University fails to take concrete steps for employees and colleges.
It was communicated to the staff associations that teachers will resume their duties from April 1. But now, teachers will resume the strike from April 12 if the university fails to concrete some steps to save their employees and colleges.
