DUTA elections

Delhi University Teacher’s Association, DUTA elections are going to take place on 26th November. The representative will come to know how many adhoc teachers are going to be a part of it. Teacher’s body poll contest will take place so that they could let their voices reach the representatives.

Shabana Azmi is a political science teacher of Zakir Hussain College. He will represent the ad hoc teachers and fight for the post of president in DUTA elections. It’s been a decade since Azmi is working as an adhoc teacher. He said that thousands of teachers wants a permanent position. However teachers have not received their dues till now.

ADHOC TEACHERS ARE GOING TO CONTEST DUTA ELECTIONS

Teachers are suffering a lot in the varisty. Azmi says that ADHOC teachers are the backbone of Delhi University bearing immense pressure. Since they are not being recognized and paid as much as they deserve to be. So, this year they have decided to contest DUTA elections.

ADHOC TEACHERS DO NOT GET BENEFITS AND INCREMENTS

There are around 4,500 adhoc teachers working in Delhi University. At times, teachers working for even two decades are replaced. However, the basic pay of adhoc teachers is similar to permanent teachers. But they don’t receive any maternity leaves and other benefits.

ELIGIBILITY FOR DUTA ELECTIONS

Although they all inhibit the same educational qualification. Previously it was said that all the temporary and adhoc teachers are eligible for interview. But the future looks shattered for well-trained and experienced teachers.
