DUSU : USAGE OF SSF FOR SALARIES’ PAYMENT IS ARBITRARY

DUSU (Delhi University Student Union)  wrote a letter to the government-aided colleges’ principal urging not to use the Students’ Society Fund to pay the outstanding salary of the teachers.

Delhi Government forcibly asked DU colleges to pay the salaries of professors and staff members, using the SSF.

On Saturday, DUSU President Akshad Dahiya writes a letter explaining that the Students’ Society Fund meant for the development of students. And, students have the right to use this fund.

The letter reads the government of Delhi has forcibly decided to use the funds of Students’ societies to pay the salaries of the teaching and non-teaching staff members. The arbitrary decision will result in a huge loss of students for the coming years.

The students’ body has empathy for the teachers and other members regarding the non-payment of salaries from the past many months. And DUSU stands with them. But, it is the responsibility of funding completely depends upon the college authority and Delhi Government. They have to take care of the salaries of their employees.

Being a student representative body, DUSU stands with the students and contempt the decision to use SSF for the salaries’ payment.

Further, the letter reads, ” The college should ensure that Students’ Society Fund should not be utilized for paying salaries at any cost and write back to the Delhi Government against the indiscriminate order.”

FOR QUICK REDRESSAL OF ADMISSION ISSUES, DUSU MEET RAMJAS PRINCIPAL

If the government would not change the decision, DUSU will be constrained to conduct fierce protests against colleges and the Delhi government.
