The DUSU Election 2025 tomorrow will decide the student leadership of Delhi University. Voting will be held across the North and South campuses on Thursday, September 18. More than 2.75 lakh students are eligible to vote, making this one of the biggest student elections in India. Polling will take place in two shifts, morning and evening, with counting scheduled for Friday, September 19.

Key Details of Polling and Candidates

According to the official schedule, polling for day colleges will run from 8:30 am to 1 pm. Evening classes will be held between 3 pm and 7:30 pm. The rules for voting are simple. First-year students can vote with their fee receipt and one valid government ID if they do not yet have a college ID. Second- and third-year students must carry their college identity cards. Eligibility is restricted to students admitted before September 9, 2025, at 5 pm.

The race for the president’s post is between three major student groups. ABVP has fielded Aryan Maan, a postgraduate student in Library Science. NSUI has chosen Joslyn Nandita Choudhary, who is pursuing Buddhist Studies. The SFI-AISA alliance has nominated Anjali from Indraprastha College for Women. Each group has released manifestos focusing on reforms, inclusivity, and welfare, as per student sources.

Security and Campus Atmosphere

Security will be tight across the university. Over 600 police personnel will be on duty. Reports confirm that 160 officers will wear body cameras. Drones and CCTV will also track movement inside the campus. Vehicle restrictions will remain in place around North Campus on September 18 and 19.

On polling day, Chhatra Marg, Probyn Road, and University Road will see traffic curbs. Parking will only be allowed at Gate No. 1 for vehicles with official stickers. Gate No. 4 will stay closed on both days. On counting day, Cavalry Lane and G.C. Narang Marg will remain fully blocked.

Students online say the mood on campus is charged but peaceful. Many describe this election as more organized compared to past years. According to posts online, many colleges are also arranging help desks to guide first-year students during voting.
