Duet 2020

DUET 2020 (Delhi university Entrance Test) is going to conduct shortly. There are over 2.2 lakh candidates for entrance exams to nine undergraduate, all postgraduate, and M.Phil and Ph.D. courses in Delhi University.  In between September 6 and 11,  NTA (National Testing Agency) will hold the entrance exams for Delhi University.

The examination centers in just 24 cities across the country. Due to this, candidates for the Delhi University Entrance Test, are finding that getting to their designated centers is a challenge.

Some candidates asserted that they might not appear for DUET. The parent of an M.Sc Chemistry candidate from Kozhikode said the lengthy travel distance to the center, has a double risk of COVID and missing out on other entrance exams. That’s why it is not preferable to go for DUET.

In the state of Kerala, the sole examination center is in Thiruvananthapuram, which is roughly 400 kilometers away. Perhaps another center in the or central Kerala would have made it more feasible. The journey will be tough. And if anyone at the center proves to be positive, she will have to go into quarantine and miss entrance exams to other universities comprising the of Hyderabad. She feels that it is not worth it, and will most possibly not write the exam, said her father.

Varanasi is the only entrance exam center in UP for DUET.  an aspirant from Aligarh earlier took Delhi as his exam center. I want the exam to get postponed, or at least for there to be another chance for those who might not be able to write the exam. I have my exam on September 11 and I don’t know how I will arrive at the exam center safely. As the COVID cases are still rising, he said.

DUET for Postgraduate

Many of those who are going to appear in the exams for postgraduate courses are those who had studied their undergraduate at Delhi University itself. Moreover, they had selected Delhi as their exam center, but are now in their home states.

Sreejith has his MA Political Science entrance exam on September 6. He boarded a train from Kerala to Delhi to appear for exams. At the time of registration, we choose Delhi. So we had thought we would come back to Delhi at the time of the exam. Also, we did not get the choice of changing our exam center when the date of the exam was selected. Now, I have to go to Delhi. I’ll stay with some friends but my parents are not comfortable with it. However, I have many friends who are not able to travel, he said.

A small-town girl with not so small dreams. The keen interest in literature and music keeps my soul alive. Specs, stories, and playlists are my lifelines!

  1. Same problem with me, I need to travel more than 500kms. The exam is at 8AM, so I should reach a day prior and look for lodging. Master’s from DU is attractive but the chances of me appearing the entrance is Slim.

  2. I am from kangra, HP
And chandigarh as exam centre allocated me but travel to another city wouldn’t be easy. Bus facility is not resumed properly till now

  3. Can i give the CUET exam if i am Covid-19 positive patient. There is no guidelines for students who are suffering from covid-19 positive.

  4. What should i do…..i have my two exams on the same day..On 11th september i have an exam of DUET as well as of BSc computer science exam ( university exam). And the centre is far away from my home town. That is impossible for me to attend both the exams.😞😞
