DU Students living in Rented Accommodation Seeks CM’s Help

This time is tough for all of us but people who are not financially well are being hit the hardest. Such a similar issue arose among the Delhi university students who reside in rented accommodation ‘in or around’ the campus.

Some students are stuck in the cities where they study as they could not return to their homes before lockdown and those students who have returned to their respective hometowns long back after the announcement of the first lockdown only are now receiving calls from their landlords pestering them to pay the rent for now and even for past month. And many among these students and their families are already facing major financial challenges as they have lost their livelihood and every other mean to earn.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has been approached by Delhi university Kerala student’s association on Friday regarding the same. The president of the association, MR. Amal K Simon, has also talked to Kerala house in Delhi to intervene in this. But this issue is not just for the students from Kerala instead every other outstate student is facing the same adversary.
CM Arvind Kejriwal, on march 22, had urged landlords to delay the collection of rents for the time being.
