On Saturday, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia met the family of a DU student, an 18-year-old boy who has purportedly beaten the life out of over his friendship with a lady in Adarsh Nagar and reported an ex-gratia of Rs 10 lakh.

Sisodia while talking to reporters said that the Delhi government will make sure that the criminals get strict punishment as soon as possible by nominating leading lawyers in the case.

The deputy chief minister stated that the DU student wished to be an IPS officer.

In northwest Delhi’s Adarsh Nagar, on Wednesday evening this incident took place. Police said Rahul Rajput was a second-year student at Delhi University’s SOL( School of Open Learning ). He also gives tuition to school students.

The police stated that Rahul Rajput was friends with a woman from his area. However, the woman’s family was against friendship.

A senior police officer had said on Friday that the boy was called to Nanda Road on Wednesday on some pretext. However, when he reached there he was beaten badly by a group of four-five people. The police further added that the woman’s brothers we’re also included in that group.

The officer had said the lady’s sibling and relatives were captured and three adolescents secured regarding the incident.
