DU Student bodies are agitated because, despite DDMA’s approval for reopening, Delhi University has not issued any notice. As per the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), orders are given to reopen all the educational institutions in the capital from today, 7th February 2022. Hence, offline classes can restart now. However, DU student bodies started their protest as they have waited for almost 2 years now.

Thus, the students are eagerly waiting for the varsity’s response as no notice has been issued. But, the University officials are constantly reassuring that they will formulate a strategy in this regard soon.

All the DU student bodies come up for the same cause:

The right-wing Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the SFI, and also the left-wing All India Students Association (AISA) have joined forces. Hence, they stated they will protest against the authorities for not reopening the colleges immediately. Today, 7th February 2022, the Students Federation of India (SFI) successfully held a protest outside the VC’s office. Also, they demanded an immediate reopening of colleges. AISA urged all the students to join SFI’s protest. They even asked students to boycott their classes.

DU RECRUITMENT 2022: APPLICATION DEADLINE EXTENDS TO 31 MARCH

The RSS-affiliated Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad successfully announced a massive movement. Also, they stated that all ABVP units in DU colleges will submit a memorandum demanding DU Reopening. This memorandum was to be given to the respective college principals on 7th February 2022 itself. Also, ABVP plans a protest on Tuesday, 8th February 2022. It will be a one-day sit-in protest at the South Campus of DU.

DU student bodies highlight that DDMA is no longer an excuse:

Previously, the University always held DDMA responsible for keeping the colleges closed. Hence, the DU student bodies had no option but to wait for DDMA’s approval. But, now that DDMA is not a hurdle, student bodies have started to protest for reopening.
