DU SOL

Despite increasing the application process at DU SOL (School of Open Learning), the number of applicants is disappointing. After November 30, the last date for application in SOL has been extended till December 31, but in this, the number of students applying was increased by about 10 thousand students till December 29 at 1 pm. This time around 50 thousand fewer students have applied for admission in SOL than last year. It is to be known that DU SOL is dependent on the fees of the students for its entire expenditure.

As of December 29, about 95 thousand students have taken admission in the SOL undergraduate course. However, the number of students enrolling in one lakh 70 thousand.

DU SOL Special Officer Prof. Umashankar Pandey said that this is a surprising reduction in the number of students applying in SOL. Whereas the course which will be taught regularly under the choice-based credit system will also be taught in SOL. We want to tell the applying students clearly that now the date of application will not be extended further. Therefore, interested applicants must enroll by 31 December.

Why applications are decreasing in SOL?

SOL’s Special Work Officer Prof. Umashankar Pandey said that no definite reason can be given as to why the number of students applying has decreased. But this time regular and SOL applications are being closed simultaneously, this could also be a reason.

What are the opportunities in SOL?

According to SOL administration, students enrolled in SOL are available from campus placements to libraries, and most study materials online. Not only this, but study materials are also provided to students offline. These students can also participate in DU’s Central Campus Placement Cell. All the facilities including skill education are free for them. Their admission fees are also around Rs 4100.
