Today, on 3 October Delhi University Vice-Chancellor Yogesh Singh launched six new courses into the list of DU SOL courses. MBA has also been added, the most demanding course among students. Therefore, now aspirants can pursue an MBA from the School of Open Learning (SOL) of Delhi University.

Further, 6 new courses include four UG and two PG courses. The admission process for all the SOL programs including these newly added courses will start this week. It is important to note that the admission process will be entirely online mode.

List of six New courses

  1. Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)-Financial Investment Analysis 
  2. Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS)
  3. Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Economics
  4. Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLISc)
  5. Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  6. Master of Library and Information Science or MLISC

Expansion of DU SOL courses after 28 years

The DU VC Prof. Yogesh Singh said that the six new courses were added after a long period of 28 years. The information was shared in the program which was organised in the ViceRegal Lodge Auditorium. 

All the recent courses are launched with keeping the professional and employment-oriented curriculum. So, according to the VC, these courses will bring and boost employment. 

Merit-based admission in MBA

During the programs, the SOL Director, Professor Payal Mago said that 20,000 seats have been approved for the MBA course. Whereas the number of seats in the remaining five courses is unlimited. Also, admission to this course will be based on merit. Besides, she shared that every year over five lakh students admit to DU SOL courses. The introduction of new courses will increase the number of candidates. 

Furthermore, from this academic session, admission in all SOL courses is conducted through NEP 2020. As a result, the duration of all Undergraduate courses will four years under the FYUP policy.
