DU Second Merit List: After the first round, the University of Delhi is ready to announce the second CSAS allocation list. Candidates who didn’t get admission to the first list can apply to the second if they get the seat. Moreover, the students can only apply against the second list till 1 November.

In the first seat allocation round, more than 59,000 candidates secured admission to DU. Thereafter, the university releases the number of vacant seats for undergraduate courses. Through examining the vacant seat candidates can expect admission into DU colleges. 

Further, the candidates get two days to choose to reorder or upgrade their preferences. And, around 60% of candidates choose for upgradation according to the varsity officials. 

As per the university press release, “The second CSAS allocation lost will release on 30 October, Sunday at 5 PM. The list will be according to the availability of seats in UG programs at the university. Moreover, candidates will get the time to accept the allocated seat by DU Second merit list from 31 October (10 AM) to 1 November (5 PM).”

Before this year, Delhi University used to conduct UG admissions through 12th-class marks/scores. However, now the process has changed drastically. Delhi University is taking admission into 79 UG programs through Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores. 

The college’s administration has praised the new system and said that this time the process is easier than before. Whereas many students have complained about the complexity of the admission procedure. Also, the admission process has been delayed this time which results in fewer filled seats in science stream courses.
