Here is what the officials said on DU reopening:
On Wednesday, the university registrar, Vikas Gupta said that they are waiting for the Delhi government to issue something in black and white. Hence, then only they would move ahead. Also, the varsity has already resumed practical classes for PG and final year UG students since September 16. But, the attendance in DU colleges has been thin as attendance is not necessary.
Mr. Gupta also stated that DU reopening is only possible if DDMA allows 100 percent seating capacity in colleges. Thus, considering that most of the students are not from Delhi, they are not sure how to implement the 50 % occupancy criteria.
The new Delhi University VC, Yogesh Singh told that they would decide on DU reopening after Diwali. It is highly doubted and feared that covid-19 cases might increase post-Diwali due to festivities. Hence, the VC confirms that if the situation remains stable even after Diwali, reopening can be considered.
Delhi Schools reopening soon:
Delhi Education Minister, Manish Sisodia declared that all the schools in the city will reopen from 1st November 2021. Also, he mentioned that the reopening is for all classes. The Delhi government has taken this decision after consulting the Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). Also, all the covid-19 safety measures will be followed as the covid-19 cases are less but the guard cannot be lowered.
