DU reopening is finally a reality from 17th February 2022 after 2 years of shut down. Hence, all the Delhi University students have mixed feelings about the reopening. Excitement and Anxiety are going hand in hand as students have less than 10 days to prepare. Thus, problems are mostly for outstation students who have to find accommodations in such less time.

DU reopening: The dilemma of offline vs online
Not all students are happy about the reopening of colleges. The majority of final year students don’t want an offline mode as they have only 3 months of college life left. So, finding accommodation for just three months is expensive and also time taking for them. Also, some students have an opinion that hybrid mode should be adopted. Thus, those students who are willing to take online classes should be given that opportunity as well.
Student’s view on DU reopening:
Anushka Biswas is a 1st-year student from Lady Shri Ram student who lives in the northeast. Hence, she is worried about moving halfway across the country in such less time. Also, like Anushka, there are lakhs of students who have to travel from far away in less than 10 days. They even have to find hostels and PGs in this tenure, i.e. before 17th February 2022. Many of the students are financially weak and unable to join back. Hence, it is a problem for them.
DU EXAMS 2022: UNIVERSITY TO CONDUCT EXAMS IN OBE AND PHYSICAL MODE
Amisha Nanda, one of the students in the law faculty did participate in the DU reopening protests. Hence, she clarified that they demanded “accessible education” which is comfortable for all students.
Many colleges are conducting polls and petitions against reopening. Also, others are sending mass emails to their college administration. Hence, with no special covid-19 protocols and extra funding, students are scared.
