Previously, the draft undergraduate curriculum framework was criticized by many DU teachers. As per them, it should have been discussed in the academic council meeting of DU. Considering all these problems, draft UGCF 2022 is now uploaded on the official website of Delhi University – du.ac.in. Hence, feedback can be submitted via a Google form that is active till 31st January 2022.
Apart from being issued on the website, the draft Undergraduate Curriculum Framework has also been distributed among the stakeholders. Hence, the press release states that the purpose is to get reviews from stakeholders with special reference to parents, students, academicians, etc. So, the varsity solicits valuable suggestions from all quarters.
Mithuraaj Dhusiya, a member of the academic council said that this is the 4th template issued by DU in 2021 that will introduce NEP 2020 from the academic year 2022-23. Thus, each draft has differed wildly on fundamentals such as course structure.
Abha Dev Habib, the former treasurer of DU Teachers Association said that the executive council has approved a framework with 196 credits on 31st August 2021 amidst dissents. But, in December 2020, DU circulated two more drafts with 184 and 164 credits. The 4th model brings it two 160 credits. Hence, she stated that the idea of a single structure for multiple types of certification is flawed.
