The Fee Waiver Scheme is for students from a financially weak background, under which nearly 1,700 applications have been received by Delhi University. The eligible candidates could only apply for the scheme till 31 January 2023.

Further, the University of Delhi will examine all the applications from students. Then, the final list will release for students who will become beneficiaries of the Financial Support Scheme (FSS). Besides, this scheme was announced by the university last year in November.

The DU officials said, “We have received nearly 1,700 applications from students for the fee waiver scheme by the last date of applying. Moreover, the scheme’s goal is to promote equity, access, and quality with excellence, both in letter and deeds for economically weaker sections.”

This scheme considers all the students’ fees except the hostel and examination fees. As per officials, “Students with a family income of less than Rs 4 Lakh are eligible for a 100 percent waiver. Whereas students whose family income is between 4 lakhs to 8 lakh are eligible for 50℅ fee waiver.”
