DU Physical classes are almost canceled for the year 2020 as the varsity sets guidelines for the online internal assessments, vivas, internships, and more. Hence, DU released a notice which elaborately stated the conductance of all the necessary activities before the theory exams via the online mode. Since all these are conducted online, there is mere to almost no chance of college reopening and the occurrence of physical classes.

New rules for internal assessment :
In the physical classes, 3 existing components of internal assessments were necessary. Hence, class tests, tutorial tests, and attendance formed the components of physical classes and their internals. However, amidst the pandemic, the security of the students is put at topmost priority. Therefore, the 3 components are combined into one forming the Internal Assignment. Students are supposed to submit an online assignment on the topic given by the various teachers of different courses. This system is applicable only for the current semester as the varsity might allow physical classes in the next semester. However, this does not apply to SOL students.

What does the statement say?
“Internal assessment of the students should also be carried out using IT tools.” Teachers are supposed to give the assignments to the students via mail in the prescribed format. Classes are to be taken on Google classrooms as per the statement. Hence, the students and teachers are guided to use the college email is provided by the varsity for college purposes. The assignment is to be given within the designated time. Hence, teachers will then evaluate the marks obtained and submit the same to the principal.

Replacements of DU physical classes:
Viva and oral examinations are taking place on Skype and google meet. However, only a simple question and answer is included in the internal exams. Internships are also to be considered for all students. Hence, internship activities will take place digitally. Therefore, work from home concept will be adopted. Internships on ongoing projects are also allowed.
JNU STUDENTS DEMAND THEIR RETURN TO THE VARSITY’S CAMPUS
Hence, all these measures are taken to completely replace the DU physical classes. A smooth semester via online mode is ensured. Therefore, there is only a vague possibility of resuming physical classes.
