While the University of Delhi is all set to conduct its second round of Open Book Exams (OBE) from 12th December, tweaks in the DU OBE guideline have been made to make the online process smoother. This time the students can submit their answer scripts only by uploading the files on the DU OBE portal. The University has withdrawn the option for making OBE submissions via mail.
The University of Delhi will be conducting DU OBE exams for second and final year undergraduate students and final year postgraduate students in a blended mode. The University has offered two options to the students to either give exams in their respective colleges through ICT facilities or to give exam remotely.
As per the data shared by the Delhi University officials, over 5,700 students have opted for physical mode while 1,49,345 students have opted for the online/remote mode.
In August, Delhi University had conducted the Online OBE exams for final year students of undergraduate and postgraduate courses, which experienced several technical glitches. The University conducted the second phase of OBE in the blended mode in September for students who were not able to appear in the first phase of OBE. The OBE results released by the University again demonstrated mockery where several students were marked absent for the exams they appeared in.

Dean of Examination, D.S. Rawat said that the University made this decision by observing that 92% of submissions were made online in the first phase of OBE. The University received over 5.5 lakh emails through the course of examination which were later on streamlined, segregated, and uploaded on the DU OBE portal for the final evaluation.

Dean added that like last time the students will be provided 3 hours to write their exams and additional one hour will be given for downloading the question paper and uploading of answer scripts on the portal. This time the University has introduced an additional window for the hour of submission in case students face technical glitches.
Some Delhi University teachers are also guiding and making students familiar with the process. Students have been advised to write their details on the answer scripts in advance and make a family member/friend sit behind to scan the answer scripts.
