There have been several pleas by the students of DU SOL (School of Open Learning) challenging the implementation of the CBCS (Choice Based Credit System) as a method of evaluation. The Delhi High Court has asked the Delhi University to file an affidavit in this regard.

Justice Pratibha M Singh has also asked the DU SOL to tell the court if or not a committee was appointed to cure the defects in the course material.

The order of the Delhi High Court has come in a writing petition. This petition was filed by some of the DU SOL students who were seeking the quashing of CBCS mode of evaluation, this was because there were defects in the course material. They wanted DU SOL to hold annual examinations instead.

The Petitioners have said that they have not been provided the course material in the hard copy. This applies to both the semester’s course material. The material which has been uploaded is also full of defects. Therefore, it is almost impossible for the students of DU SOL to give the examinations. They will not be able to upload the answer sheets by July 11.

The court has also taken note of the fact that Du was asked to file a counter-affidavit in the same matter. This order was dated on 27/02/20. But this affidavit has not been filed to date.
