The governing body of 28 colleges funded by the Delhi Government has been given an extension of three months by the University of Delhi. Notification regarding extension given to the governing body has been issued by the DU Administration.
The Delhi Teachers Association (DTA), a teacher organization of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has appreciated this order. DU Vice-Chancellor Professor P.C. Joshi, Dean of Colleges Dr. Balram Pani, and Registrar Dr. Vikas Gupta. DTA in-charge Dr. Hansraj ‘Suman’ said that DTA’s demand for extension of governing body of 28 Delhi government-funded colleges.
Expressing happiness, he said that the process of promotion of teachers is going on in these colleges. As soon as the promotion is complete, after that the university administration can start the process of appointing academic and non-teaching staff.
The governing body of 28 Delhi government-funded colleges has been given an extension of three months again.
He has written a letter to the Director of Higher Education Department, Government of Delhi. He said that in the context of the office letter dated 15 January 2021 and then the letter dated 29 January 2021. An extension of three months is given because of the situation of corona infection.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi had sought an extension of three months to the members of the governing body. It was nominated by the Delhi administration in 28 colleges of Delhi University. He has told that this has been possible due to constructive dialogue with the university officials along with the Deputy Chief Minister in the past. Gradually the situation is becoming normal in 28 colleges.
The DTA has demanded from the Delhi government that apart from senior educationists, journalists, doctors, Sanskrit workers in 28 government-funded colleges, only the names of those who have contributed to academic life can be sent so that those colleges can get level administrative leadership.
