DU Executive Council will soon discuss a proposal for the payment of honorarium and extending other facilities to international adjunct faculty. The executive council is the highest decision-making body of the varsity. Hence, they have decided to meet on December 17.
Also, in the previous meeting held in August, both the academic council and the executive council had come to a conclusion. Thus, they had already approved the proposal for the empanelment of adjunct faculty in DU as it would add value and internationalization academic activities.
DU Executive Council to meet on December 17:
On December 17, the council will discuss the proposal for fixing the payment of the monthly honorarium. Hence the names of the shortlisted adjunct faculty members are:
- Prof Christopher Len, Chimie Paris Tech
- Erik V Van der Eycken, Chemistry Department, University of Leuven
- Prof Reiser Oliver, University of Regensburg
- Prof Pradip Raychaudhuri, Department of Biochemistry, University of Illinois
- Shanta Pandey, School of social work
- Prof Christian Betzel, University of Hamburg
- Prof Eddy Arnold, Chemical Biology, Rutgers University
- Hussein Payandeh, Allama Tabatbai University
- Prof Hilary Inyang Inyang, Global Institute for Sustainable Development
Decisions of the DU Executive Council in November meeting:
In the November meeting, the empanelment committee of adjunct faculty suggested a monthly honorarium of up to 80,000, i.e, 4000 per day. Also, it proposed one department visit per semester and a maximum of two visits per academic year.

As per actuals, DU is responsible for the medical insurance expenses and local travel expenses during their stay. Also, the appointed members will be provided free lodging and boarding in DU’s international guest house. The concerned departments will be responsible for arranging office space for adjunct faculty. Also, the meeting of the DU executive council has discussed all possibilities for the empanelment of national adjunct faculty.
