The date of filling up of examination form for Open Book Examinations of final year students has been extended up to June 22, 2020.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the nation was under lockdown since the month of March. All the educational institutions, corporate offices, and public places were temporarily closed. Generally, till last year, students of Delhi University had their exams in the month of May. This year, due to the coronavirus pandemic, the university is temporarily closed and that is why exams have not been conducted yet for the students.

PROMOTION OF FIRST AND SECOND YEAR STUDENTS

It is important to maintain social distancing nowadays. As this is an infectious disease and the cases of coronavirus are increasing at a high rate day by day, it is not possible and safe for the university to conduct classroom examinations. Due to the prevailing conditions, the University Grants Commission decides to promote first and second-year students of Delhi University. All the first and second-year students of Delhi University are promised on the basis of the previous semester result and internal assessment of the current semester. Students are promoted on the basis of a 50-50 formula.

NO EXAMINATION FORM WILL BE ACCEPTED BEYOND THE NOTIFIED DATE

But, the university decided to conduct examinations of final year students. Final year students would have their exams in the month of July. Before the conduct of examinations, and in order to get an admit card for the same, students have to fill an examination form. It is compulsory to be filled by all the students. Then only, they would get their admit card issued. Students are not allowed to appear for exams without admit card. There is a specific date set until which students can fill up the examination form. Students would not be allowed to fill up the examination form after the expiry of the date. The date for filling up the examination form for students has been extended up to 22 June 2020. A notice regarding this decision has been uploaded on the official site of Delhi University. Beyond this date, no examination form shall be accepted.

DATE SHEET HAS ALREADY BEEN UPLOAD ON THE OFFICIAL WEBSITE

As it is not possible for the university to conduct classroom examinations, final year students would have their exam through online mode. Final year students have to appear for an open book exam at their respective home only. The datasheet for under graduation exams has been upload to the official website. All the information related to mock tests, conduct of exams in OBE mode, and registration on the examination portal would soon be notified to the students.

PROTEST OF STUDENTS AND TEACHERS

Previously University released admit cards for post-graduation students. However, students and teachers protested against the decision of open-book exams. But the official decision regarding the commencement of open-book exams for undergraduate and postgraduate students is already passed by the university. The admit card of post-graduation students has already been released by the University and the admit card of under graduation students will be released soon after filling up the examination form. Hence, the university is ready to conduct online exams of the undergraduate and postgraduate students.
