Delhi University is ready with some alternative ways if students would not be able to download question paper and submit answer sheets.
Delhi University is all set to take exams of final year students of open learning. Due to coronavirus, as it is not possible to conduct classroom examinations and it is important to maintain the norms and protocols of social distancing, Delhi university has decided to conduct exams through online mode. Regular students of the first and second year are promoted on the basis of their previous semester results and current semester internal assessments.
FIRST YEAR STUDENTS OF SOL WOULD BE PROMOTED ON THE BASIS OF INTERNAL ASSESSMENT
First-year students who are admitted to the School of Open Learning(SOL) do not have to appear for exams. Their exams would not be conducted. They will be promoted on the basis of internal assessment.
Only final year students of the regular college, School of Open Learning and Non-Collegiate Women Education Board have to appear for exams.
There are many rules and regulations set for students in order to appear for an online exam. Online exams would be in the form of the open-book exam. As the internet connection at that time cannot be predicted, therefore the university has thought of an alternative way to appear for exams successfully. Universities defined the procedure to appear for exams.
ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO DOWNLOAD QUESTION PAPER AND SUBMIT ANSWER SHEET
The set up some alternatives to download question paper and submitting answer sheets if university exam portal fails. If students would not be able to submit their answer sheet DU exam portal, they can mail it to the respective exam board. Delhi University notified to the students that if any student for any reason are not able to upload the scanned images for their answer sheets on the portal after the completion of the examination, the same can be sent in PDF format at the designated email address of SOL and NCWEB as the case may be.
The university said that question paper of DU exams for all the students would be available on the official site of DU. But, for any reason, students could not get question paper on the official site if the official site fails, School of Open Learning students can get the question paper on ‘student’s dashboard’ and NCWEB students can get it through Email or WhatsApp if requested.
Delhi University has notified to the students to opt for this alternative only in case of emergency. Students can access this alternative if they are not able to get question paper on the official website. For SOL students, in case of emergency, students would get a question paper five minutes prior to the commencement of exams.
TEACHERS AND STUDENTS PROTESTED AGAINST DU EXAMS
Many students and teachers protested against open book exams of final year students. Still, Delhi University stuck to its decision and is now ready to conduct exams for final year students. Many other universities have promoted even final year students so that they could not miss their favorable opportunities to enter in the corporate sector. There are many more other reasons due to which other universities promoted students and for protest of teachers and students against DU exams. Still, the university is up to its final decision of DU exams. DU exams would begin in the month of July.
