This time, in DU convocation, due to the Corona crisis, students and their parents and guests will not get admission to the 97th DU convocation on 27 February, as well as guests will not be invited.

It is mandatory for all students to follow the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs to prevent the spread of coronavirus. All students will have to take their seats from their scheduled seats by 9 am. At the same time, it is mandatory for all the students to attend the rehearsal who will get degrees and medals on 26 February.

Must follow these guidelines

  • Have to come in a mask.
  • A physical distance of six feet will have to be maintained.
  • All students have to download the Arogya Setu app on the phone.
  • Food and drink are not to be taken to the venue.
  • Do not carry any kind of bag and electronic gazette.
  • During the program, students will have to keep phone calls.

Demand for Ph.D. degrees offline

At the DU convocation on February 27, Ph.D. degrees have been demanded to be given offline. The newly elected member of DU Executive Council, Dr. VS Negi has written a letter to the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. PC Joshi, demanding this.

Negi wrote in the letter that getting a Ph.D. is an unforgettable moment. The student accepts it in the presence of the chief guest. It is, therefore, our request that students be provided Ph.D. degrees offline at the initiation ceremony.

It is noteworthy that in view of the Corona crisis, DU has decided to perform the DU convocation ceremony in a small way. It is noteworthy that the initiation ceremony of DU will be held on February 17 at 10 am in the multipurpose hall of DU’s sports stadium complex.
