One of the officials said that a couple of other names have also been considered apart from Sushma Swaraj. Hence, these names include Swami Vivekanand and Veer Savarkar. Thus, the academic council and the executive council of DU will be considering these three names.
Vikas Gupta, the DU registrar said a facilitation centre and also the proposed college is going to be built at Bhatti Kalan Gaon in Fatehpur Beri. Thus, this will be a part of the university’s centenary year. He also added that the name is yet to be decided. Also, the name of the former Chief Minister, Sushma Swaraj is under consideration.
Facts about the upcoming DU affiliated college:
Mr. Vikas Gupta clarified that it is not yet final if the new college will be co-educational or a women’s college. Also, another DU official added that since the area is far-flung, the chances of an all-women college is less.
Dharmendra Pradhan, the union minister of education will lay the foundation stone of the facilitation centre on Sunday. Also, the land allotted for the new college by the area’s District Magistrate is approximately 40 bighas. In this foundation event, BJP member of Parliament, Ramesh Bidhuri will also be present. Hence, this facilitation centre will assist the DU students living around Bhatti Kalan to complete admissions, exams, etc without having to travel.
