The COVID-19 phase has been really tough for the ones who lost their loved ones. There are many students whose parents lost their lives due to the disease. So, the acting vice-chancellor of Delhi University took a decision for them. DU VC waived off the fee of those students of DU colleges who lost one or both of their parents due to COVID-19. The regulating bodies instructed the colleges to make a list of those students.

DU asked the colleges to conduct a survey for the students. The Dean of Colleges Balaram Pani said that they will seek the reports by Monday.

PRAYER MEETING IN THE MEMORY OF DU EMPLOYEES

DU VC held a prayer meeting in the memory of the employees that varsity lost. The main focus of the administration is on those students that lost their parents. They will provide free education to the students till the time they are studying in DU.

DU COLLEGES FUNDED BY DELHI GOVERNMENT

One of the principals of DU college said that he is in favor of the decision. After the varsity finalizes, he will put the proposal before the governing body of the college for approval. He further said that Delhi Government provides funds to that college. So, he needs to seek approval from the governing body.

TYPES OF DU COLLEGES

DU Colleges are of three categories. First, colleges that different trusts fund, second, colleges that DU funds, and third, fully or partially Delhi Government funded colleges. As of now, Delhi Government funds 28 Colleges. Out of these, the Aam Aadmi Party dispensation funds 12 colleges.
