The Chairpersons of Delhi University and governing body received a circular from the Assistant Registrar for DU colleges. They have invited applications for both academic and non-academic positions and principals of DU colleges. So, the seats will be occupied by the officials in DU affiliated colleges.

Colleges have to take urgent action for such positions. Moreover, they have received the guidelines for the advertisements and vacant positions. Professor Yogesh Singh is the new Vice-Chancellor of Delhi University. On the other hand, more than 20 colleges of Delhi University don’t have permanent positions. All the colleges are government funded and the terms of all the officials of these colleges ended on 13th September.

So, here is a list of colleges that do not have permanent principals.

DU COLLEGES ARE FACING PROBLEM WHILE TAKING IMPORTANT DECISIONS

On the other hand, the governing body of Bhim Rao Ambedkar College will retire this month. After the advertising process, the college would finally look after appointing the new principal. The registration circular must be approved now. So, if colleges approve an acting principal, he or she must be given a permanent position in the college. As principals are not in their positions, teachers are facing difficulties while taking any academic decisions and appointments.

WHY APPOINTING PRINCIPALS IN DU COLLEGES IS A MATTER OF URGENCY?

Dr Hansraj Suman is the President of Delhi Teachers Association. So, he said that they have to take this decision in an urgency because the Education Ministry passed a circular to clear all the backlog posts of teachers.
