According to the DU assessment scheme, the weightage given to internal assessment will be more than the end-semester examinations. It has been decreased to around 56% and will be 90 marks out of 160. The internal assessment will also contain tutorials as a trait.

Abha Dev Words On This:

Abha Dev Habib, who teaches at Miranda House, said, “Now when the first semester is in its prior week. The university begins a new internal assessment scheme which itself is a tragedy. Internal or continuous assessment needs a lower student-teacher proportion as well as fewer papers per semester for the students. By reducing the hours per paper. The university has already inflated the number of students a teacher contacts during a semester. It has also inflated the number of exams a student has to study each semester.” She alleged, “Now the administration is appealing to us to retrospectively interact as well as produce an assessment or creatively cook up marks through multiplication or arbitrary divisions.”

University officials, yet, said the transition had been carried out. By keeping in mind the new undergraduate curriculum framework under National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.

“As for constant evaluation, if classes have been held up daily, teachers should not have complications in marking students for the exact. Based on the lessons, teachers can evaluate and it is not that they have to evaluate currently. They can just refer back to the classes held and why should that be a difficulty,” the official wondered. So constant evaluation has been there in some system or the other, and it should not be a difficulty now.”
