DU ADMISSIONS: The admission process of Delhi University has started for U.G and PG for various courses across various affiliated colleges. This year, like last year the admission process would be online. The last date for DU ADMISSIONS in U.G registration is 31st August.
This year as the number of students securing 95 and above marks has increased. This would reflect the DU cut-offs for admissions 2021-22. Which would be likely to increase due to the board’s result.
Many colleges already have had high cut-offs in the previous academic year. These colleges are Shri Ram College of Commerce, Hindu College, Miranda House, and St. Stephen’s College.
The DU admissions process for PG Program began on 26th July, whereas for U.G began on 2nd August.
DU Vice-Chancellor P.C Joshi said, “We respect the CBSE’s and other state board results decision. The seats might increase in colleges if required, he added. He even said that this year the cut-offs are likely to soar but the admission procedure will be based on a merit list
DU ADMISSIONS: ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
The University of Delhi has decided to keep the eligibility criteria as last year only. Keeping in view the challenges faced by the students due to the outbreak of Covid 19.
Whereas for the PG programs students will have to fill a registration form. They would have to pay separate registration fees for opting for more than one PG program.
DU V.C, also said that the registration fees for the U.G admissions both based on Merit and Entrance base will remain the same. The UG admissions would be done through a centralized registration portal. All the departments will use the same application form for admissions in the colleges. The students would not have to fill any other form, he added.
Delhi University ADMISSIONS: PRESENT SITUATION ANALYSIS
In the plight of the present pandemic, the admission and result procedure by different boards might be best suitable. Because of the present situations the online admission procedure and merit and the entrance-based system is the only option available, he added.
Till now for the U.G admissions, there have been around 3 lakh applications for a total of 70,000 seats. So there’re likely chances that the seats might increase according to the situation.
