DU admissions have now begun. Social media website Facebook has served a helping hand for Delhi University. And students applying to the varsity amid the coronavirus pandemic to solve the queries and doubts of candidates regarding Under Graduate (UG) admissions for 2020-21.
More than 300 pupils reached out on the varsity’s official FB page with questions related to admissions, certificates, payment, and verifications among others on day one of online admissions.
Besides making up various nodal officers and college complaint cells, DU this year has launched an official Facebook page – ‘DU Admissions Branch’ to help pupils out respecting admissions.
The page was first initiated by the admission committee in June to perform webinars on admissions and doubt clearance rounds.
Most queries were obtained on this platform related to confirmation of documents, provisional certificates, how to calculate best out of four. Furthermore, how to withdraw an application from one college and take admission to other colleges once the second cut-off list is published.
Moreover, many pupils also put up the problem of already paid the admission fee, however, not receiving any form of confirmation.
According to an admission committee official, 30 volunteers have been asked in for help desk assistance.

This is the first time the varsity is conducting admissions on the online platform. So, we are also apprehensive but volunteers have been deployed to govern any hindrance. They are working relentlessly to help the pupils out, said the official.
