The admissions for Undergraduate courses under Extra-Curricular Activity (ECA) and Sports category in Delhi University (DU) colleges will commence from November 9.
Due to the prevailing pandemic, this will be the first year to hold admissions via sports and ECA without trials. The varsity has agreed not to conduct trials and proceed online based on the merit of the certificates scores.
Till last year, the admissions under the sports and ECA category were carried out in two modes – direct and trials. A nominee who played an international tournament – Olympiad, World Cup/ Championships, Common Wealth Games, Asian Games, South Asian, Paralympic Games, and others are eligible. Hence, they can apply for direct admissions.
While, in the second mode, students took admissions on a trial basis who played at national, state, district, and zonal levels. 40 marks were allotted for certificates and 60 for sports trials. However, this year the varsity will include the 60 marks (trial marks) and the 40 marks based on the sports certificates and will revamp it to 100 marks. Afterward, the candidates will select candidates exclusively based on the certificates.
In the ECA category, there are about 14 categories including dance, singing, writing, yoga, NSS, and others. The candidates have to introduce self-attested five top certificates, of which 3 best certificates will be selected, and the merit list will be prepared by computing the marks out of 100.
