St Stephens College Delhi University

St Stephens College Delhi University is one of the oldest colleges in Delhi and is one of the constituent colleges of the University of Delhi. The college was found by Rev. Samuel Scott Allnut in 1881. The college began it’s functioning with just five students and three teachers in a small house near Chandini Chowk Kinari Bazar. St. Stephens College shifted to its present location in the North campus in 1941. The famous red-bricked buildings of the college were constructed by the renowned architect Walter Sykes George. At first, the college was affiliated to Calcutta University and later to Punjab University. It was in 1992 that the college finally got affiliated to the University of Delhi.

With a vast list of notable alumni in varied fields, St Stephens College Delhi University has been awarded an ‘A’ grading with 3.21 CHPA by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) and has also been accredited by UGC. From Rajiv Sethi to Barkha Dutt, from Raam Reddy to Rahul Gandhi the college has been developing these well-known leaders in various fields ever since it started imparting education and knowledge.
