New Delhi: Delhi University welcomes admissions under sports quota every year. There is a certain percentage of seats reserved for the students applying under sports category.
This year University sports trial will be held from June 22nd to June 29th.
The admission will take place on the basis of the marks secured in the trial and the experience certificate. This year university has slightly changed its admission policy under sports quota, in which trial will be conducted with respect to the position held by the applicants in sports or games. The aspirants are required to submit one ‘best’ sports certificate while registration. Anil Kalkal, the director of Delhi University Sports Council (DUSC), informed.
The applicants have to report 30 minutes before the trail at the venue allotted. They also need to bring a printed copy of the online Undergraduate registration form with them. The applicants are also advised to bring their playing kits along to avoid inconvenience.
The venue for the centralized sports trial has been decided by the University sports council. There are total 33 categories of games and 22 venues, where the trials will be conducted. The different venue includes both the stadiums and DU colleges around Delhi. Like the trails for the Archery will be held at Hansraj College, DU. Swimming trials will be held at Dr Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Pool Complex, trials for Cricket (M) will be held at SGTB Khalsa College and Cricket (W) Kamala Nehru College. Shooting trials will be held at Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range and etc.
The schedule for the sports trials is displayed under “Sports Quota 2018” at the undergraduate admission portal on the DU website.
The Complete merit list of sports category will be declared on the official website of Delhi University, before July 6th.
The documents verification process and admission approval by the colleges will be held on July 10th and July 11th. The first merit list will be released on July 9th, second on July 14th and third list on July 19th.
The Colleges will further notify, for admission in case of remaining seats under sports quota.
