Established in 1922, Delhi University is among the most prestigious universities in India. It is the first university to get the status of ‘Institute of Eminence”. DU was started with just 3 colleges and 700 students. But now, the total number of affiliated colleges with the university has increased to 90 with more than 130,000+ students.

 

Outlook I-care ranked DU 25th among the top central universities in India, and according to the NIRF rankings, the university was ranked 8. It also holds the prestigious membership of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), Universitas 21, University Grant Commission (UGC) and Commonwealth Universities (ACU).

Admission Process

The courses offered by Delhi University include undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral level programmes. The admission in courses like BA, B. Com, B. Sc, etc., is offered based on merit, while for the courses like B.Tech, BMS etc., admissions are offered based on the entrance examination.

Master in Business Administration 2 Years Entrance Test (CAT+GD+PI) The candidate must have an undergraduate degree in any stream from a recognised university with 50% marks.

Application Process

The candidate interested in any programme must undergo the Delhi University Admission process, which includes various steps that the candidate needs to follow to successfully register their candidature.

 

  • The applicant needs to visit the official website of the university.
  • The link to the Admission form will appear, and by clicking on that link, register with your email id and mobile number.
  • After receiving the login credential by email, applicants can fill the application form.
  • In the next step, they need to fill in the educational, personal, and other information required along with the documents like photograph, signature, and merit certificates.
  • The last step is to choose the course they want to apply for and submit the application fees. It leads to successful registration for Delhi University Admission.
  • The candidates are advised to check their email-id regularly as all the communication will be done through email.

Placements

The placement in DU is done through the Central Placement Cell and Placement cell of the individual affiliated college. In 2020, the highest package offered was INR 37.7 LPA to a student at Lady Shri College of Women. The top colleges of DU, like Hindu College, St. Stephen College, SRCC saw a massive increase in the highest package offered.

 

The average package offered in 2020 was INR 6 LPA, and 60-70% of students who applied for the placement got the job offer. The top college which saw the highest number of recruiters was LSR College of Women, Hansraj College, Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Khalsa College, Ramjas College and Maitreyi College. The top companies that visited the campus were Ernst & Young, American Express, AIG, Wipro, KPMG, Amazon, Bain & company etc.
