On Monday, October 12, the DU admission process was kick-started. On the first day, the students were seen queuing up outside a college.
The DU admission process will be completely online this year since the students are not allowed to enter the colleges because of the coronavirus pandemic.
A new cut-off record was set by Delhi University this year after the cutoff was decided at 100 percent for three courses at Lady Shri Ram College for Women. Across the colleges of the university, there are 30 courses where the cut-offs have been decided at 99 percent.

Hindu College has the highest number of 99 percent and above cut-offs after LSR college. For Political science (Hons.), the cutoff is set at 99.5% and for Physics (Hons.), the cutoff is at 99.33%.

It is not the first time that the cut-off has touched the 100 percent mark, five years ago, the same situation was there. For admission to the Computer Science course, the Indraprastha College and College of Vocational Studies had sought 100 percent.
The record-high number of applicants coupled with more number of 95 percent plus scorers in board exams is the reason behind the high cut-offs.

A helpdesk was set up by the students at DUSU for aspirants on the first day of admission. For about 70,000 undergraduate seats at DU, a total of 3,54,003 students had applied. In comparison to last year, the number is1.5 lakh higher.
