DU Admission 2023: The University of Delhi is among the topmost choices of students for taking admission into UG and PG programs. Now, again the struggle of aspirants has begun as the admission season is almost here.
Delhi University offers a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs and most importantly gives amazing campus life. Also, it focuses on extracurricular activities to let candidates pursue their interests with their academics.
Since last year, the pattern of DU admission has changed a lot. Now, 12th-class scores are not enough to take admission into the dream college. Common University Entrance Test (CUET) scores determine whether a candidate can secure a seat or not. Moreover, DU PG admission will also be done through CUET-PG from this academic year. Before this, only undergraduate admissions were done through the CUET scores.

Currently, Delhi University is planning to launch a Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal for UG admissions in 2023. Candidates should keep checking the official website of the university i.e., www.du.ac.in. The website will notify you once the application form is out on the official portal.
It is advisable to carefully fill in all the details asked in the application form otherwise it can cost a loss of a seat. Before the application forms are out, keep all the documents handy like identity proof to avoid last-moment haste.
Similarly, for postgraduate course admission, the forms will be out on the official portal. In the form, the applicants need to fill in the details like educational qualification, choosing the desired course etc. Moreover, certificates, mark sheets, identity proof and other documents will be required.
Besides, DU also takes admission through sports and extracurricular activities. Though, candidates need to appear for the performance test along with the CUET exam. Then, candidates will be selected based on CUET scores (25 per cent) and the remaining 75% will be counted for the performance test.
The application fee information will be available on the official DU admission portal. Candidates must pay the application fee before the deadline to complete the process. Also, the fee may vary for different course and also according to the categories (General, OBC, SC/ST, PwD).
Once the form is out, the candidates need to apply on the official DU CSAS portal. Here are the steps to follow:
As stated above, the DU admission process will be done through the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs. Further, the CUET exam will be conducted from 1 June 2023. Whereas CUET PG exam 2023 will be conducted between 5 June to 12 June. However, NTA first scheduled the CUET UG exams on 21 May but extended them due to large numbers of applications.
The admission for PG courses and a few UG courses was done through Delhi University Entrance Test (DUET) in the academic year (2022-23). But now the pattern has been changed for these courses too. So, now those who want to take admission to Delhi University have to appear for this exam.
Additionally, there is no upper age limit to appear for the CUET UG 2023 exam but they must have appeared for the 12th board exams. But candidates need to check the college and course-wise eligibility before applying.
Only if the aspirants clear the CUET exam can register on the DU CSAS portal for seat allocation. Further, the seat allocation is done by considering various factors like a combination of colleges and chosen course/program, merit list, category (UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS) and most importantly number and availability of seats.
Delhi University will announce the seat allotment list on its official portal in online mode. Once the DU seat approval is done, candidates need to secure the seat by paying the admission fee.
