For the first time, Delhi University is going to give admission to undergraduate courses in online mode. In this online DU admission process students have to take admission after the cutoff lists are released by the University. At the same time, Principals of various DU Colleges claim that the process is going to be challenging for colleges as well as for students. They included that even at the time of offline admissions students find it difficult to calculate the marks. Now when the entire admission process is online, they might incur problems.
It is known that this year more than 3.5 lakh students have registered for DU admissions 2020. The principal of Aryabhatta College, Dr. Manoj Sinha said that I believe the process might be more challenging for students than for the college as students have many doubts about admission. When the procedure was offline, the admission committee used to check the details but this will not be possible in online mode.
There might be cases where students are admitted and later in the verification of their certificates any error is found, then their admission will therefore stand to cancel and by then all the cutoffs for DU admissions will be completed. He added that so far no meeting of DU Principals has been held regarding the DU admission procedure.
DU ADMISSION 2020: WHAT IS THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA IN THIS NEW VIRTUAL ADMISSION SEASON?
A principal of another DU college said that earlier the process was offline. But this year everything is changed and the procedure will begin without the presence of students. Earlier, students were directed by the DU admission committee and the problems were rectified on the spot in the offline mode.
However, this will not happen in online mode. This is going to be challenging for both colleges and students as the coronavirus situation has left no other option.
Atmaram Sanatan Dharma College Principal, Dr. Gyantosh Jha said that due to change in procedure, DU admission 2020 will be a challenge but they are ready for it. Every problem incurred during DU admission will be solved via mail, telephone, or other means. We hope that the online process will commence smoothly.
