DU admission 2020 is likely to begin from 12th October 2020 via a virtual/online mode. It will be a month-long process ending in November 2020. 5 separate cutoff lists will be released which would be further extended according to the availability of seats. In the wake of the corona virus pandemic, this whole procedure is to be commenced online and thus, a change of college is risky. A Provisional Admission mode is to be adopted this year and thus, eligibility has to be cautiously checked.

Hence, the process of changing colleges can pose some risks to the students. The aspiring candidates as well as the colleges are requested to be fully conscious and careful while checking the eligibility.

DU ADMISSION 2020: COMMENCEMENT OF PROCESS FROM OCTOBER 12

Issues posing risk to virtual admissions:

Manoj Sinha, the principal of Aryabhatta College says that the new system restricts the college authority to transfer a student if the person seems unfit against the criteria. Earlier, colleges used to send several incompetent students to other colleges after evaluating the percentile and documents. Mr. Sinha said, “Now there is not much provision for rectification, as the process is not going to be easy.” Hence, the colleges are expected to cautiously evaluate the eligibility criteria of a student without making any mistakes.

DU ADMISSION 2020: FAQ’s REGARDING DU CUT-OFFS AND ADMISSION

Sanjeev Singh, director of the university’s computer center explains that the risk would be high in changing the college and course after the declaration of cutoffs. The admission and transfer process is vast and dynamic with an enormous number of applications in each course and college. Hence, it may happen that the criteria might change after the student cancels an admission and approaches another college.

What needs to be done:

The colleges need to be very careful in approving or canceling any admission. Verification of a candidate’s details and documents have to be thoroughly done. To avoid uninvited complications in the virtual admission process, no chance of rectification has to be left by colleges. The admission procedure would be similar to that of last year. Only the mode has been made online. Colleges will calculate the cutoffs, and the system will provide them assistance. Necessary details of the students, and their documents will be made available to the college. After the approval of admission, the candidate can further pay the fees.

DU ADMISSION 2020: KNOW THE NEW PROCEDURE

What is the new Provisional Admission System?

Mr. Singh says that the admission will be on a provisional basis. It means that the admission can be declared canceled if it fails the verification process. The verification process of the documents will continue till 31st December 2020 as per predictions.

S.P Agrawal, principal of Ramanujan College said that the verification process will not take much time as the results are easily available digitally. He added, “ The college IT system will also have to be equipped.” Hence, the procedure is expected to go smoothly if the college website is made efficient enough along with the cautiousness of the colleges.
