The Vivekananda College Delhi University was set by the combined efforts of NCT of Delhi and the UGC, in Gandhi Nagar. The institute offers top courses in Bachelor of Arts like Political Science, History, Applied Psychology, etc. Vivekananda College is an all-women college.
The college was established in 1970 on the principals laid down by Swami Vivekananda. As of now, the college offers more than 20 courses across 5 streams. The college has a library, computer lab, auditorium, sports ground, etc.
The college was begun with approximately 300 students in a school building. Vivekananda College Delhi University is accredited with a NAAC certificate. On October 26, 1976, the foundation stone of the building of the college was laid down by Prof, S. Nurul Hassan. The building of the college has been dedicated to Swami Ranaganathananada of the Ramkrishna Mission.
The whole Campus of Vivekananda College Delhi University is Wi-Fi enabled. There are three computer labs in the college with internet facilities. The computer labs have 115 terminals. Modern-day technology requirements like the LCD scanners and projectors are available in the labs.
The college library has approximately 53,500 books related to the streams of the college. As an extension to the current awareness services, the college has been providing magazines and newspapers in the Students’ Common Room and the Staff Room.

Genpact, Accenture, Aditya Birla Capital, ICICI Bank, Cognizant, Yes Bank, Bajaj Capital, RFID, and EY are the two companies that come to the college every year for placements.

The Vivekananda College Delhi University offers MA programs in 2 specializations. The college offers masters in Hindi and Sanskrit, but the student must be a graduate in the relevant subject
To take admission into the postgraduation courses of Vivekananda College Delhi University, you first need to register yourself on the postgraduation portal of the Delhi University. Once you have successfully registered yourself, you will have to sit for the Delhi University entrance Tests or the DUET examinations that are conducted by the NTA.
After the exams, results are declared. Once the results are declared, individual colleges release their cutoffs. If you qualify a particular cutoff of a college, you can take admission into that college.
The faculty of Vivekananda College Delhi University is very good, they are very helpful and friendly to the students. The teachers are very supportive of the long-term plans and goals of the students. Therefore, students need not be worried about academics.
The placements are not so good currently as the college needs to work harder in calling better companies to the college.
The annual fest of the college is a perfect platform for students to showcase their hidden talents. The organization of this fest on an annual basis, adds to the holistic development of the students. Dignitaries from the corporate as well as the academic world come to the annual fest. The audiences are enthralled by the up to the mark performances of the students.
The college also offers many scholarship schemes that are can be availed by students of any course. These scholarships recognize the talent and merit of students. Applications for the scholarships are received at the beginning of each academic year. Financial help is extended to the students by the Students’ Aid Fund. Those students who are under financial constraints are helped by this fund.
Fee concession is given to those students who belong to the economically weaker sections of the society. The deserving students are awarded the merit cum means based scholarships by the college. Needy students can borrow textbooks for the whole academic year from the Book Bank facility available in the library of Vivekananda College Delhi University.
The students who belong to the SC/ST/PWD/BPL categories are provided with some special scholarships. National and merit-based scholarships are also provided for brilliant students under the State and Central government. The University Merit Scholarships, Scholarships for the wards of Ex-Servicemen, scholarships for the wards of riot-affected are also given to the eligible students.
There are large playgrounds in the college premises. Activities like Athletics, Table-Tennis, Hockey, Kabaddi, Volleyball, and Cross Country are organized in the college. The college also has a dedicated music room which has all the musical instruments that are used by the music lovers in their practice sessions.
The Sharda Hall of the college is used for organizing various talks, seminars, and lectures by external professors. The Hall can accommodate up to 150 students.
The college also has a Food Technology and Psychology Laboratory that is well equipped for performing different types of experiments.
