DU Admission 2020: Delhi University has nearly 70 thousand seats in undergraduate courses, but the university of Delhi has accepted more than 85,475 seats this time. Interestingly, the reserved category at DU still has seats vacant.
More than three and a half lakh people applied in DU. Admission 2020 in DU has more admissions than general class seats, while reserved class seats remain vacant.
DU’s Dean Students Welfare Prof Rajiv Gupta said that very few seats are vacant in DU this time. The maximum number of seats in the EWS category is 5.6 percent.
However, he also mentioned that we are also considering seats that are left in the EWS. There can be various purposes for this.
Number of remaining seats in percentage
In the EWS category – 5.6 percent
In OBC category – 1.5 percent
In SC category – 46 percent.
In the ST category – 3.5 percent
Every year at DU the cutoff is taken for admission to undergraduate courses. It has more admissions cases than the number of seats.

In fact, according to DU rules, if the 95% cutoff of a college falls in the general category in political science and even on 50 seats, if there are 200 students under that cutoff, then the college cannot refuse them admission. That’s why popular colleges often have more admissions than seats for a subject and in many colleges, seats for the same subject are left vacant.
