DU ADMISSION 2020: THE ADMISSION PROCESS IS LIKELY TO BEGIN TOMORROW, JUNE 20

Delhi University admission process is expected to begin tooday, i.e. on June 20. The admission process was on hold due to the outbreak of a coronavirus pandemic. Moreover, a University official told news agency PTI that the registration process for admission to Delhi University will most likely begin on June 20.

The University will not hold any sports or ECA trials. The decision to do away with sports and ECA trial is only a one time measure taken in wake of the coronavirus pandemic. Delhi University has decided that there will be no admission in ECA quota except for NCC and NSS on the basis of certificates and no trials will be held. For sports quota too, the admission will be granted on the basis of certificates.

The University has already done away with the admissions under the ECA (Extra-curricular category) this year. It would have been tough to conduct trials because of the norms of social distancing.

The sub-committee meeting for sports, ECA, and other performance-based admissions were held recently. It was decided that for the UG/PG admissions based on sports, the performance/trial’s marks (a maximum of 60 marks) will be clubbed with the sports certificate marks (a maximum of 40 marks).
