DU Admission branch on OBC certificates:
DU admission branch was informed about this matter when several colleges demanded the latest OBC/EWS certificates from the candidates for admission. Hence, an email was sent to all the DU colleges directing them to allow aspirants to take admissions for a time being. The admission committee directed the colleges to get a self-attested undertaking. Hence, a candidate who fails to provide a fresh OBC/EWS certificate during admission will be given a stipulated time as mentioned in the student’s undertaking.
Therefore, such candidates have to submit a self-attested undertaking which would mention the estimated time within which the fresh category certificates have to be submitted. Along with the undertaking, a self-attested copy of the acknowledgment slip has also to be provided to the college. Hence, in the undertaking, students have been asked to provide details for their application for the new certificate.
Words in the OBS/EWS Undertaking:
“ I undertake that, my admission against the reserved seat is subject to the submission of a valid and fresh OBC (Non-creamy layer)/ EWS Income Certificate. The new certificate will be submitted within the given time limit of 14 days from the date of admission subject to the last day of admission.”
Admission will be canceled by the college if the student fails to submit the fresh OBC/EWS certificate within the estimated period. Hence, the undertaking adds “I also state that I am aware that failure to submit the certificate will get my admission canceled as it depends on the validation of my original certificates.”
Hritik, an aspiring candidate says that he is glad to get some extra time. He has taken admission in B.A. honors Sanskrit. However, he could not apply for a renewed OBC certificate. Despite applying online as per SDM’s direction, his certificate is yet to be issued. Hence, this extension of time brought relief to the students.
