DU ADMISSION 2020 TO BE ENTIRELY ONLINE

This will be happening for the first time that the entire procedure of admission to the University of Delhi will be conducted online. This step has been taken in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the meeting, one of the principal highlighted that this is going to happen for the first time in the history of Delhi University. Delhi University has received applications from across the nations and eyeing the situation of power cuts in rural areas and other similar constraints, the University of Delhi has decided to keep the portal open throughout the three day period so as to allow sufficient time for the candidates. This step/strategy will also prove out to be beneficial for the colleges and they will also have enough time in hand to verify the authenticity of the certificates and documents.

 THREE STEP VERIFICATION

Certificates and documents submitted by the students will be verified in three steps. Initially by the teachers, then by the convenor of the admission committee, and finally by the principal.

ONLINE CALCULATOR

The facility of the calculator on the online portal was also discussed in the meeting and it was highlighted that the colleges will not have to calculate or verify the best of four marks manually for the students of class 12 as these tasks will be completed by a digital calculator. It will be done on the basis of the form. The principal of the concerned college will just need to check the eligibility of the students on the basis of the calculated best of four marks. This step might save some time.
