The Delhi University’s academic council will have a meeting on Tuesday. The agenda is to discuss changes in the admission process to colleges. It’s regarding the adoption of the Common University Entrance Test.
From the upcoming academic year, it will formulate that students will get admission to undergraduate courses. It will be solely on the scores they will get on the entrance test.
With the implementation of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET), the Delhi University (DU) will give away the earlier system of admission. Under the earlier er system, it used to declare cut-offs based on Class 12 board results.
The DU academic council will meet on March 22 to talk over changes in the admission criterion. As the varsity has agreed to opt for the Common University Entrance Test from the 2022-23 academic year.
The Standing Committee of the Academic Council in its meeting held on March 17. It recommended that admissions to the varsity be entirely based on scores of the CUET.
As per the minutes of the meeting, the members said that it will not be possible to comprise any other criterion. It will become the basis of marks attained in board examinations.
The minutes asserted the members felt that the eligibility criterion must be inclusive. It will invite a large number of aspirants from across the country.

The Minimum criteria should rephrase as the candidates must pass the Class XII examination. As per the minutes of the meeting, it is equivalent thereto from a single recognized board.
The standing committee was also of the belief that admission to all supernumerary seats. But it will exclude foreign students which will be through Common University Entrance Test. It is decided that admission to minority colleges such as St Stephen’s and Jesus and Mary, will also execute through Common University Entrance Test.
In centralized counseling, different merit lists will develop for unreserved as well as minority candidates. It is according to the reservation policy.

Till the previous year, the university used to disclose cut-offs for admission to colleges. Preview year, at least eight colleges had pegged the cut-off at 100 percent for admission to numerous courses.
