Delhi Technical University (DTU) dismissed all the exams for the session 2019-20. Today, the authority of DTU announced the news to cancel the end term examination of the fifth semester.

Seeking the rising cases of coronavirus pandemic in the national capital, the Delhi government has directed DTU to terminate the remaining end semester exams. Under this decision, end term exams of even semester 2019-20,  for intermediate Semester of all the programs, including Ph.D. course work and all semesters of ex-students. 

Kamal Pathak, Controller of exams, issued the notice. In the official notice, the cancellation of exams was announced.

The exams which were about to start on the 17th of July, stand to cancel. Also, guidelines for the assessment of the various courses pertaining to intermediate semesters will be notified shortly.

Delhi documented 1,246 new coronavirus cases on Monday, grabbing the city’s total tally to over 1.13 lakh, while the casualty toll climbing to 3,411, PTI quoted authorities as announcing. This is the third day when the national capital has reported outbreaks in the range of 1,000 to 2,000.

The total number of patients stands at 1,13,749 while 40 deaths have been listed in the last 24 hours, the health department said in a journal. There are nearly 19,017 active cases in the city, while 91,312 people have recovered from the disease.

However, the total quantity of tests performed so far was amended to 6,92,845 on Monday from 7,89,853 tests on Sunday, a reduction of 97,000.
