Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) will now carry out trials of contactless e-ticketing on buses. Passengers will book buses via mobile app chartr.
Delhi Transport Corporation deployed 29 buses on route number 534, i.e. from Anand Vihar to Mehrauli. After the cluster scheme buses, DTC will conduct the trials in the buses traveling on route number 534 from 14 September to 21 September. The authorities conducted trails in both cluster schemes and DTC. It is a part of phase 2 trials of contactless ticketing.

Due to COVID-19, it is important to follow the norms and protocols of social distancing. In order to maintain social distancing and prevent the spread of the virus, DTC took this decision of contactless ticketing.
The Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot on Friday reviewed the Phase-2 trails in cluster buses. He also inspected the mobile app on route number 429.
In August, the transport department of the Delhi Government carried out the public trail of the e-ticketing system. On route number 423, the e-ticketing system in all the buses was in operation. Passengers can buy e-ticket and scan the QR code of the bus.
The spokesperson of DTC said that there are many steps taken to promote contactless e-ticketing. Many posters and QR code is affixed inside the buses for the passengers. It explained the whole mechanism of how to download the app and buy the bus ticket online.
