The Teachers’ Association of Delhi University has written a letter to the National SC, ST Commission, National OBC Commission, demanding the data of incidents happening in the colleges of Delhi University. Delhi Teachers Association (DTA) President Dr. Hansraj Suman said that apart from the National SC-ST and National OBC Commission, a letter has also been written to the Parliamentary Committee related to it.

They alleged that incidents on caste lines are taking place against Dalit teachers in the departments and affiliated colleges of Delhi University. Therefore, a demand has been made to get the data of the incidents happening in the colleges. Delhi Teachers Association says that incidents of caste discrimination are coming to the fore on issues like roster, reservation, appointment, and promotion, but some incidents are suppressed by the administration, they are not resolved.

DTA President Dr. Hansraj Suman has told that the matters of Delhi University Colleges, National Commission for Scheduled Castes, National Commission for Backward Classes, Non-compliance of reservation of many colleges in Parliamentary Committee, changes in the roster, caste discrimination or Promotion matters are going on.

These colleges include Aryabhatta College, Swami Shraddhanand College, Vivekananda College, Aditi College, Bhimrao Ambedkar College, Daulatram College, Hindu College, Motilal Nehru College, Satyavati College, Maharaja Agrasen College, and many more.

Dr. Suman has told that there are more incidents of caste discrimination against the teachers and employees of Delhi government colleges. He says there are 12 colleges fully funded by the Delhi government, and 16 colleges are 5 percent aided colleges.

Dr. Suman has demanded the commission and the parliamentary committee to send a draft to the Delhi University administration and colleges. In the format, information should be sought about the college, post, what kind of incident happened, how much time it took, why the principal did not act on it, what is its status now, whether it has been resolved or not, etc.
