On 29 June, Wednesday, the Standing Committee of the University of Delhi passed the draft FYUP syllabus. The draft syllabus are for the first semester 19 undergraduate courses. However, the four members disagreed with the draft.
As earlier, Delhi University has approved National Education Policy (NEP 2020. Also, the four-year undergraduate program (FYUP). Both the resolutions will be implemented from the 2022-23 session. Further, the Executive Council cleared the draft Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) under NEP implementation in February.

Balaram Panni, Delhi University’s Dean of Colleges told that the FYUP syllabus 2022 will be finalised in the upcoming 15 days. Moreover, he said, “We have plans to pass the syllabus for all the courses by next week.” Besides, the draft FYUP syllabus has been prepared by 19 different departments of the University. And, has been cleared by the Standing Committee. Following, the next step is to present the draft to the Academic Council (AC) and the Executive Council (EC).
Meanwhile, the four members of the committee who have shown dissent against the draft are Rajesh Kumar, Biswajit Mohanty, Kumar Shantanu and Nidhi Kapoor. They said, “Procedural lapse of providing insufficient time for minute observation” of the syllabus of 19 programs. Also termed ‘Futile task’ for evaluating only the UG first semester syllabus.
Furthermore, Members said, “It is unfair to comment on the overlapping, continuity or discontinuity of paper until we analyse the papers of all four years of graduation. Moreover, uncertainty dilution and contemplation of the content of syllabi have noticed. It was not considered by the authorities well.”
