Delhi became the 1st country in the entire world to mandate its entire hired car fleet to switch. Hence, all of this will be done in a really short time. This is the new “Switch Delhi” campaign which begins at home. The following was tweeted by Delhi’s deputy chief minister, Manish Sisodia.
Chief Minister Kejriwal did also shared his opinion on Twitter. He says, “Delhi is rapidly transitioning into a modern city. Hence, it is a proud moment for every Indian citizen.”
Measures that are taken for this electric vehicle capital scheme:
The Dialogue and Development Commission (DDC) was launched by the Delhi transport minister, Kailash Gahlot. Hence, the campaign motivates private vehicle owners to switch to electric vehicles.
The Chief Minister had also launched the Switch Delhi campaign. Hence, this campaign spreads awareness about all the subsidies provided by the government on electric vehicles. Also, the EV policy envisions that by 2024, 25 percent of the new vehicles are electric ones. This policy was launched in August 2020.
