DU ADMISSION 2020

A notification issued by the University of Delhi is being circulated by the teachers to the students in the college groups. However, the notification has not been uploaded on the University of Delhi’s official website yet.

The notification states that it has been issued in pursuance of the University Grants Commission recommendations on examination and academic calendar in view of the Covid-19 pandemic.

As per the notification, the University of Delhi suspended its regular classes on 16th March 2020 due to the lockdown amid Coronavirus pandemic. Later, the online classes for various courses were commenced from 16th May 2020 and were dispersed on 15th May 2020. Moreover, with the notification issued on 14 May 2020, the University of Delhi announced the commencement of Review and Revision online classes. The notice demanded the setting up of special classes for the students of all courses for three successive days from 15th May 2020 (Friday) to 18th May 2020 (Monday).

 

According to the notification, the time period granted for the submission of the evaluation of practicals, internal assessment, dissertation, project work, fieldwork, assignment, internship, etc has been scheduled from 19th May 2020 to 12th June 2020. The official notice regarding the extension of the last date for submission of the following reports was issued by the Dean (Examinations) on 22 May 2020.

 

 

In accordance with the notification, the summer vacations for the students of the University of Delhi have been set from 13th June 2020 (Saturday) to 30th June 2020 (Tuesday).

 

Furthermore, the notification states that the theory examinations for the final year students will commence on 1st July 2020. The evaluation process for the exams will also begin on 1st July 2020. The results of the final year students for the exams which will be held in July will be declared by 31st July 2020.

The new academic session 2020-21 will begin from 1st August 2020 for the 2nd and 3rd-year students whereas, for the students taking admission in the 1st year, the academic session will begin from 1st September 2020.

The notice further states that if any additional changes will be made to the academic calendar, it will be brought up to the notice of the concerned persons.

No information regarding the first and second-year exams has been provided in the notification. There is still a question mark on the examinations of 1st and 2nd-year students. The University of Delhi has not yet issued any notification expressing whether examinations for 1st and 2nd-year students will be held or not. Neither the mode of examination for the 1st and 2nd year DU students have been specified in any of the recent notifications.

Furthermore, there is no notification regarding the revised academic calendar on the official website of the University of Delhi till now. The notification is being calculated by the lecturers and professors of Delhi University and is already viral in various college groups.
